Franklin High School Principal Mike Cady has been named 2010 Wisconsin High School Principal of the Year by the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators.
This accomplishment is a tribute to Mike as an educational leader who has demonstrated a positive impact on students and the learning community.
Cady has also been selected as Wisconsin’s High School Met Life/NASSUP (National Association of Secondary School Principals) Principal of the Year. NASSUP and Met Life will honor all State Principals of the Year at a national symposium in October 2010 in Washington, D.C.
"Franklin School District is indeed fortunate to have the excellent leadership of Mike Cady, “ states Dr. Steve Patz, Franklin Public School District’s Superintendent. “Mr. Cady has taken leadership to an exemplary level and created a reality of excellence at Franklin High School.”
Cady, who is in his sixth year as Franklin’s High School Principal, said: "Certainly, I am humbled and gratified to be acknowledged by my peers in this way; but most importantly, this award is reflective of the entire staff at Franklin High School, who strive daily for benefit of our students."
Cady came to Franklin from Pewaukee High School in where he was the associate principal for three years. Before that he was the Dean of Students at Nicolet Union High School and a social studies teacher at Pewaukee.
Cady began his year in 1994 at Pulaski High School in Pulaski, Wisconsin as a high school social studies teacher.
“Mike exemplifies what leadership in public education is all about. He is a superb principal who serves as a splendid role model for his peers and for those who aspire to serve as school administrators, and he will represent Franklin Public Schools well in the national competition,” says Dr. Patz. “This is a true indication of the level of professionalism and expertise that our school system boasts.”
